Chocolate Swiss Roll
It’s Bake Off Time! One of my favourite programmes is back and this time I’m determined to take part in the #GreatBloggersBakeOff2014 challenges. I’m renowned for having baking disasters so this year it will be my 7 year old doing the baking! He has recently decided that he want to learn to cook so what better way to start.
Obviously 7 is a bit young to be lighting ovens and such so he is watched all the time and I do any heavy lifting or moving of hot things! Here is his Chocolate Swiss Roll with strawberry cream!
This was his first time using an electric whisk, I love the look on his face!
We had whisked the eggs and sugar for ages so they were really light and then Jacob tried really hard to not knock all the air out as he folded in the flour. We cooked it in the oven for 10 mins at 200.
Once the sponge was cooled he spread his strawberry and cream mixture on and rolled it up – he did need a little help with the rolling as he was panicing that it would break!
I thought he was going to cuddle it!
